Although Usher is R&B royalty, Johnny Gill is an R&B legend from decades back. He had a solo career before he joined New Edition and after. He has a raspy voice and classic dance moves. His voice is timeless and although Usher had success throughout the 1990s to now Johnny set the stage. Usher has to bow down because Johnny is a pioneer and no one can touch him, not even Jermaine Jackson or Vandross. He’s special. Usher just lives to compare himself to Chris Brown and Justin Timberlake. That gets old after a while.
